Accredited Deep Tissue Hot Stone Course with all major associations in Alberta.

We have created a deep tissue technique that is unique to the massage therapy field that is based on research. We have combined hot stones with trigger point therapy and movement release. This is a valuable tool for your ‘tool box’ to efficiently release muscles with less effort from you (the therapist). Hot stones bring blood into a localized area, by opening the blood vessels we are supplying the muscles with more nutrients, oxygen, and proteins to promote faster healing, decrease adhesions, increase ROM, and decrease clients parasympathetic response. There are many more benefits of this technique that we go over in detail adjacent to recent research in the sports medicine field. We use in replace of hands, Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) has proven to increase the length of your career with and prevent hand injuries.

In this course we will use Hot Stones for a deep tissue, therapeutic massage for the sole purpose of releasing the muscles. Using the stones for heat and as a tool to protect your hands. The heat not only helps the client’s muscles, but the same effects are on the therapist’s hands. We will very briefly review relaxation massage, so you can do it safely with your clients.

Our aim with this course is to provide an easy way to use the benefits of heat, save your hands, and have longer lasting effects for the patient. We are bringing a scientific based approach to massage therapy.

We have also taken special care and pride on how we deliver this information. The course is designed by Alix Claydon who also holds a Bachelor of Education and has specialized in curriculum development. We understand that each person learns differently. This is why we made sure we have incorporated Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinaesthetic teachings into our courses. Each ‘lab’ and demonstration is taught to small groups no more than 6 people per instructor.

During demonstrations we have written, visual, and reading steps on a ppt. During the labs the instructors are very engaged and help you with biomechanics and give you different ideas. We are confident we can help you learn and master Muscle Release’s Jade Stone Course in 2 days.

Hot Stones can be used as a tool for relaxation and deep tissue massage. The main use of Stones is for the purpose of releasing tension in muscles and/ or relaxing the mind, body and soul.

If you’re new to hot stone therapy, we recommend you read our essay written for the associations of Alberta to send to the government, proving why hot stones should be included in the regulation of massage therapy.
