Myofascial Release Therapy was developed by John F. Barnes. He created this technique during his PT sessions, to specifically work with the connective tissue that runs in a three dimension web throughout the body. Fascia is made up of elastin fibers, collagen fibers, and a gelatinous fluid called ground substance. Fascia is everywhere including around your bones, organs and just under skin. This fascia acts as glue, your muscles have to work hard to move.
