What is Planter Fasciitis?

Planter Fasciitis can be described as inflammation of the fascia at the bottom of the foot, or otherwise described as the connective tissue covering the bottom of the foot. Symptoms are often felt as sharp pain at the heal or the arch but it can present in different ways. This can be caused by almost anything, some examples would be shoes, mechanics of the walking, bone structure, overuse, overload…

What can Kinesiology do?

At MRMT we practice a Kinesiopathic model to treat Tendinopathy/itis pain. We will find the route cause of why these injuries may have happened, we will determine the phase of healing you are in (how acute the injury is), We will find your strength and mobility imbalances in the joints above and below to get a complete look at how your system is functioning. There is no exact protocol because each injury is different. The treatment will be tailored to what we find in you.At MRMT we practice a Kinesiopathic model to treat low back pain. We will find the route cause of why these injuries may have happened, we will determine the phase of healing you are in (how acute the injury is), assess your biomechanics (if you hurt your back during an olympic lift, back squat, bench press etc… we will do a biomechanics analysis of these lifts to make sure the correct muscles are being used.) We then find your strength and mobility imbalances in the joints above and below to get a complete look at how your system is functioning. There is no exact protocol because each injury is different. The treatment will be tailored to what we find in you.

What can massage do?

Massage can help Planter Fasciitis in the acute, subacute stage and chronic (when the bottom of the foot is swollen or just happened it is in the acute stage, and in subacute stage the fascia will be starting to form again, chronic stage the fascia will have healed with layers of scar tissue and be a constant problem and pain). Each stage will look different for massage and be complimented with kinesiology to help regain strength and fix mobility imbalances. All of our therapists are trained to know what treatments will be successful in each stage of your injury.
